Terms of Service — UniMatch

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using UniMatch, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be: (a) at least 18 years old, (b) currently enrolled at a recognized Kenyan university, and (c) able to provide a valid university email address (.ac.ke or .edu domain). You must provide accurate information during registration. Misrepresenting your identity, age, or university affiliation is grounds for immediate termination.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You may not share your account or allow others to access it. You may only create one account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Impersonate others or create fake profiles
Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
Share explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful content
Use the platform for commercial purposes, solicitation, or spam
Attempt to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or abuse detection
Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the platform
Upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property

5. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant UniMatch a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your content within the platform to other users. We may remove content that violates our Community Guidelines without notice.

6. Safety

UniMatch is not responsible for the behaviour of other users. Always exercise caution when meeting people. We encourage you to meet in public campus spaces and tell a friend. If you experience threatening behaviour, report the user immediately and contact local authorities if needed.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time via Settings > Security. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

UniMatch is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, UniMatch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to interactions with other users.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to mediation and, if necessary, to the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
